Welcome to the Mecham Family Stories Blog Spot

I hope each of you will accept the invitation and post stories, pictures, events and many other fun things. I know we are all busy but it would be fun to write things now and again so that we can all stay connected.

Call me if you need help getting on the site. Karen, please invite Chase and Stephanie to join. I don't believe I have their e-mail but once I have it I will include them as an author too.

I love all of you very much and hope we can have fun with our family blog.

Dear Family

Today we celebrated Daniel's birthday (one day early). He enjoyed his own little chocolate cake. When you buy a 1st birthday cake from Albertson's then they give the 1 year old their own cake. Daniel needless to say had chocolate cake from head to toe but mostly on his hands. He thought playing in the cake was pretty fun. After I down load some pictures I will try to post some on here. If I can't figure it out then I will just e-mail you some. It is hard to believe he is one. It has been a great year having him in our family. We hope the new year is going all right with all of you. We love you

Happy Birthday Daniel! And Laree too! Had four basketball games today in our family. Went 3-1 with Annie having a wonderful outing with 8 points and five assists. Her father thought the five assists were awesome. (Cheering loudly from the stands). It was three more than his whole team had last night. Jarom hit four three pointers in one quarter of one of his games. We have had a bad week with sickness. Robyn went to the doctor's office three times and to the pharmacy five times. The nice people there are becoming quite friendly towards her! :) Have a great weekend everyone!

Charlie and I are both preparing lessons for our callings tomorrow. Charlie teaches in primary and I am the Laurel advisor. Laurels are very intimidating but very fun too. Today we went on a family jog. We jogged to our neighbor's house and picked 3 bags full of oranges and grapefuit and tangeloes right off their trees. Macy had fun helping. She had about 4 oranges today. I think I will make Charlie change all the diapers tomorrow! :)

ROY -- The Box Elder boys basketball team hit the road looking for its first region win and a little redemption on Wednesday night.

With a 66-49 effort over Roy at Ted Smith Gym, the Bees picked up a hard-fought victory, along with a few bruises.

In a game featuring constant physical play from both sides, two technical fouls and one intentional foul, Box Elder survived and redeemed a disappointing home loss to Sky View suffered last Friday.

"If you're going to drop one at home, you have to win one on the road," Box Elder coach Keith Mecham said. "This is always a tough place to play, so we're grateful we were able to get the win."

Sophomore standout Brant Mecham, who entered the contest averaging nearly 18 points per game, dropped a season-high 30 points on the Royals and was perfect from the free throw line, knocking down 15-of-15 along with three 3-pointers.

The 6-foot-5 guard also grabbed 12 rebounds while playing nearly the entire game.

"It was tough from the beginning. We started off slow, but we ended up getting what we needed," Brant Mecham said.

Roy, which held the lead for most of the first half, was led by senior Cameron Lamb's 17 points. Maurie Blau added nine points off the bench for the Royals.

Robby Dilg tallied 14 points for the Bees, who sank 31-of-37 free throws (83.7 percent), including 15-of-18 in the fourth quarter.

Happy Sweet 16 Birthday Kaitlyn. I still remember getting the call from the AP's letting me know that you had been born. I was very excited but also sad since I had to wait 15 months before seeing you in person. I hope you have a great day!

Love Aunt Laree
